What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is the science and art of using the healing power of relationships that are grounded in safety and trust. More than that, it is a tool for transformative change, and a place to come to terms with how our experiences and stories have shaped us into who we are, and how we live and love.

From our very first days, life shapes us into who we are, and we in turn shape our lives. Ironically, this happens before we are even aware of it happening. Psychotherapy is a chance to feel, language and honour all that has shaped us, no matter how deep or mysterious it is. The motivation for change might be prompted by a loss, a crisis or a need to fix specific problems, yet it can often end up with stepping into a deeper, more connected sense of self, responsibility, love and freedom.

What is psychotherapy?

As a relationship uniquely grounded in safety and trust, psychotherapy is a place to deal with chaos and the overwhelming. It is a tool for transformative change, and a place to come to terms with how our experiences and stories have shaped us into who we are, and how we live and love.

A therapeutic relationship is a collaboration supporting us to feel, language and honour all that we carry deep within ourselves. It is an opportunity to pause and revisit those unmet places within, ranging from fixing a specific problem and healing old wounds, to reconnecting with a sense of the essential wholeness and vastness of being a person, and being alive.
