My approach to your therapy.
My approach to your therapy.
The novelty of therapy
We rarely, if ever, experience a relationship absolutely dedicated to ourselves, with a total commitment to non-judgement and compassion. I know that seeking help can be nerve-wracking, so it is a priority for me to ease your concerns around the therapy experience and make sure you feel safe and comfortable during our sessions. I aim to understand the challenges you’re facing, and then cooperate and collaborate with you as we work on things together, so that you get the most out of your therapy.
The process of therapy
The parable of teaching a person to fish applies to therapy. Together we will address the immediate problems, but ultimately psychotherapy helps clients to be better problem-solvers themselves; that is, to be able to fish for themselves. This is why therapy can be so catalysing of profound growth and transformation.
The way I work involves slowing down enough to notice and stay with thoughts, feelings, sensations and behaviour, in one’s self & in another.
Everything is included, and body and mind are not seperate.

The length and cost of therapy
Therapy isn’t a one-session done-and-dusted scenario. There is an arc to each treatment that we will negotiate together as we go so you will always know where we are in the therapeutic journey. A psychotherapeutic ‘dose’ is typically a minimum of six months of weekly sessions. Short-term therapy, often structured around a specific focus, usually involves a minimum of ten sessions. Sessions are generally 50 minutes, although for some clients longer sessions are necessary.
Individual: $140 (50 minutes)
Couples: $200 (50 minutes)
